Gun Smoke
Fire first.
Gun Smoke is a legacy cannabis brand from the days before dispensaries, repositioned as a tribute to the outlaws who carved out a place for the plant. We built the identity — a desperado roundel, a hand-inked wordmark wrapped in smoke-shaped filigree, three inks — and the packaging for its first three releases: Frontier Flower, Boomstick and Six Shooters.
From renegades to trailblazers
Gun Smoke is a legacy brand, born in the days before legal dispensaries, when cannabis culture ran on resilience and rebellion. As the landscape shifts, the brand shifts with it — from a hustle to a cause.
Like the outlaws who defined the American frontier, it stands as a tribute to the people who fought to carve out a place for cannabis and paved its way into the mainstream.
A desperado who lives by his own rules
Two marks share the work. The wordmark sets Gun Smoke in a bold serif with inline detail and closes it inside filigree drawn to move like drifting smoke. The brand icon is a desperado — hat brim, turned collar, a lit roll — a figure of courage and defiance, locked in a roundel.
Both hold in three inks. Wild West print ran on limited palettes, when every extra colour cost money; Gun Smoke honours that with Sasparilla Black, Blazing Red and Sand Stone.
An eighth of the finest indoor grown
The 3.5g pouch carries a Wild West landscape — saguaro, mesa, a low sun — printed in red and black on a sand-stone ground. Strain and type sit on a banner at the base: Indica Dynamite in red, Sativa Durban Poison in green, Sativa White Buffalo in gold.
On the back the desperado is always wanted. A filigree window shows the flower, and a QR code invites the buyer to join the posse.
A stick of dynamite
The 1g infused pre-roll is packed as a stick of dynamite: a Blazing Red tube with a knotted rope fuse, the name running up the barrel in foil, a star and burning fuse drawn at the top. Twist to release.
Three strains, one band
A coloured band runs down the side of the tube and changes with the strain — Sativa White Buffalo in tan, Hybrid Zurple Sunset in pink, Indica El Durado OG in gold. The back takes the warnings, barcode and New York marks without breaking the firecracker.
Six minis, dusted in desperado diamonds
Six 0.5g diamond-dusted mini pre-rolls — three grams total — stand in a clear jar under an embossed metal cap. The jar ships in a Sasparilla Black carton: red and silver foil, a scalloped die-cut window on the side, and the Six Shooters mark, drawn as a revolver cartridge, on the front.
Indica Dynamite, Sativa Durban Poison and Hybrid Blue Widow each take their own colour on the strain line.
Foil, emboss and a filter tip
The finishing carries the mark down to the smallest surfaces. The jar cap is embossed with the stacked wordmark and its filigree. The end of every Boomstick tube prints the desperado, and the roll inside wears him on the filter tip.
Grit, heritage and a blue sky
The identity draws on classic Wild West design — frontier settings, hand-drawn ornament, imperfect type — for a brand that reads as opportunity and grit, heritage and authority. Every pack is rendered in the same desert light, on the same rock.
Saddle up
Three releases carry the brand out — Frontier Flower, Boomstick and Six Shooters — each with its own name and graphic, all under the same fire-first mark.
Like the outlaws of the great frontier, Gun Smoke lives by its own rules — putting quality flower above all else.
