Magic Tree Bus is a California cannabis brand built around a 2 g switch vape that carries two strains in one device. We rebranded it from a cartoon bus on a green mylar bag into a hand-painted MTB brush mark over a halftoned VW, a palette pulled from the state’s sunsets, deserts and coastlines, and Knockout set heavy — then ran the system across three colourways of carton and device, apparel and brand photography.
Everyone carries a call to adventure, and most people never answer it. Magic Tree Bus is for the ones who take the road they’ve never noticed — to the beach, a sprawling forest, somewhere deep in the desert. The best destinations are the ones nobody planned.
The brand came to us as a cartoon VW in a cloud of smoke on a green mylar bag. The rebrand keeps the bus and drops the cartoon: a hand-painted mark, halftone photography and heavy type, so every pack reads like a poster for the trip.

MTB is drawn in fat, hand-painted brush strokes — spontaneous, expressive, the energy of the open road in three letters. It sits over a VW bus rendered in coarse black halftone dots, so the mark looks printed rather than drawn on a screen, and the van carries the name without spelling it out.
A stacked wordmark does the clear speaking: MAGIC TREE BUS set tight and heavy in Knockout, a poster-like block that heads every carton and runs down its spine. URW DIN Black Italic pushes the subheads forward; URW DIN Demi carries the body copy.

A 2 g switch vape holds two strains and flips between them. The carton names the pair — one at the top corner, one at the bottom — with its type underneath, and the device repeats them as a split-colour window on its face, the base colour-blocked to match.
Each pairing takes a two-ink split of the palette, so the three SKUs read as one family from across the shelf and as three destinations up close.

Behind the brush mark, a duotone halftone photograph of the destination — boardwalk palms, a wooded coastline, a sports car — screened in the colourway’s two inks. The 2 in ONE sticker, the 2G gram signifier and the small halftone bus at the corner repeat on every SKU, so the system holds while the scenery changes.

Open the carton and the halftone keeps going — the inside is screened in the colourway with YOUR TRIP STARTS NOW printed across the flap. The government warning and barcode take the back, so the front stays a poster.

Launch renders put the pack where the brand lives — on a roof rack under a surfboard at sunset, spilled across a striped towel by the water — every scene a Californian destination the palette was drawn from.

The brush mark goes onto apparel at full size and unchanged — white across a track-jacket back, black on a tee’s chest, on a lanyard round the neck. Brand photography follows the bus route: Melrose at golden hour, the hills above the city, the boardwalk at Venice.

Venice Voltage / Mojave Melts, Emerald Echo / Saltwater Haze, Pacific Sunset / Ferrari Exhaust — one lockup on every carton, changing only the photograph behind it and the two inks it’s screened in. Hop on the bus.
